How To Use

How to Use

Follow the directions on the supplied bottle. The pictured Canadian version is identified by NPN 80115716; its published directions are for ages 12 and over.

1. Test Before Use: For new users, apply to a small area once daily for three days to check sensitivity before wider use.

2. Cleanse Thoroughly: Cleanse the skin before applying the product.

3. Apply a Thin Layer: If no discomfort occurs, cover the affected area with a thin layer. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes.

4. Complete Your Routine: Apply before oils and creams. Use sunscreen, wear protective clothing and limit sun exposure during use and for one week afterwards.

Frequency of Use

Start with one application daily. The Canadian label permits gradual increase to two or three times daily if needed; increase only according to the directions on your bottle and skin tolerance. If dryness or peeling occurs, reduce to once daily or every other day. Other regional versions direct once-daily evening use, so do not interchange regional instructions.

Important Precautions

For external use only. Do not use on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Avoid eyes; rinse thoroughly with water after contact. Other topical acne products used at the same time can increase dryness and irritation. If irritation occurs, use only one such product at a time.

Stop use and consult a doctor for severe irritation, burning or itching, or if improvement is not apparent within 6–8 weeks. Ask a doctor before use for severe acne. Get medical help immediately for hives, swelling of the eyes or mouth, blistering or difficulty breathing. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, seek medical help or contact a poison control centre immediately.

Sunburn Alert: This BHA may increase sun sensitivity and the possibility of sunburn. Follow the sun-protection precautions above.
